Map, which is not part of the original PacG, but it was prepared for it later. This mystical scenario, unfortunately, does not reflect reality at all. There are no British which conquered the island really, but only Americans which was not there at all. In addition, landing proceed other area than the actual landing took place. On the island are Japanese troops, whos also was not even there. Nonsense image of this scen is enhanced by Portugals neutral colonial territory occupied by Americans. New PacPG scenario respects the history. In fact, the first landing on the island was already on May 5, 1942, further landings took place on September 10, 1942 and September 29, 1942, the entire island was occupied until November 6, 1942. For PacPG need and to keep chronological continuity of the scenarios in the campaign this scenario includes only these parts of the battle which had been initiated by September 10, 1942 invasion.

Historic overview:

Operation codename: Ironclad
Operation IRONCLAD. Even before Japans lunge on the Indian Ocean, the Allies began to worry about the fate of Madagascar, still subject of the French government in Vichy. There was a danger that, as in Indochina, the Japanese will force the Vichy government to provide bases, particularly in the perfect Gulf of Diego Suarez in the north of the island. In such a case would be fatally compromised any communications in the Indian Ocean, interrupted maritime links with Egypt and India, and especially with the oil resources in the Persian Gulf ...
