This map is very patch work in original PacG version. Manus Islands and Los Negros are completely connected to one. Unprecedented. Coast corresponds to reality only very roughly, surrounding islands are not shown at all. Participation of Australian forces completely ignored. Map had to be completely remade.

When you move the mouse pointer over the map object (city, river, ...), its name, coordinates, optionally flag are displayed as a label

Historic overview:

Operation codename: Brewer
Admiralty Islands fulfilled all requirements. Be an ideal natural harbor Seeadler, 6 miles wide, 20 miles long and 40 meters deep horseshoe-shaped bay, limited by two main islands of Manus and Los Negros. There was also the possibility of modifying the existing Japanese airports and build new ones. The strategic location of the islands allows them to create more significant part of the chain closing the encirclement of Japanese garrisons on New Britain and the Solomon Islands. Occupation of the Admiralty islands would seal the neutralization of Rabaul. (Miloš Hubáèek - Ofenziva v Pacifiku, Mladá fronta, 2000)

Japanese counterattacks during the night are defeated.

March 7, 1944: In the Admiralty Islands - US Task Force 74 (Admiral Crutchley) bombards Japanese batteries on Hauwei and Ndrilo. There are 3 cruisers and 4 destroyers involved.
March 9, 1944: In the Admiralty Islands - The first American planes begin operating from Momote airfield.

March 17, 1944: In the Admiralty Islands - On Manus Island, US forces reach their primary objective and take Lorengau airfield.
March 18, 1944: In the Admiralty Islands - On Manus, the village of Lorengau is captured by US forces. On Los Negros American and Japanese forces engage near Papitalai.
March 25, 1944: In the Admiralty Islands - On Manus, a final drive by US forces eliminates most of the remaining Japanese forces. On Los Negros, Japanese resistance has been reduced to scattered groups and isolated individuals.

April 1, 1944: In the Admiralty Islands - US forces occupy Ndrilo and Koniniat Koruniat. On the surrounding ships, the accident brings 82 dead and 371 injured.
January 11, 1945: In the Central Pacific - A Japanese Kongo group of six submarines, armed with Kaiten-type suicide torpedoes, is launching an attack against Allied naval bases (I-36 and I-48 - Ulithi in the Caroline Islands, I-47 - Hollandia in New Guinea, I-53 - Kossol Roads in the Palau Islands, I-56 Seeadler Harbor in the Admiralty Islands and I-58 - Apra Harbor on Guam. The result of the action is a lean, Kaitens from I-36 damage the ammunition ship USS Mazama (AE-9) and sinks one landing vessel, Kaitens from I-36 damage one Liberty-class cargo ship.
April 27, 1945: Admiralty Islands - In Seeadler Harbor, a Japanese B5N torpedo bomber attacks a target reported by the reconnaissance as an American aircraft carrier. However, it is a floating dry dock ABSD-2. The torpedo hits one of its pontoon sections, which is immediately repaired. The dock commander is Joseph J. Rochefort, a former head of the cryptanalytic department, which, by deciphering Japanese radiomessages, provided the US Navy with key informations for winning the Battle of Midway.
May 29, 1945: Admiralty Islands - Isle of Manus, Royal Navy´s aircraft carrier HMS Implacable arrives at the British Pacific Fleet´s main operating base to join it. She immediately begins intensive training to attack Truk Atoll with her task force, while most of the Pacific Fleet returns from operations in Okinawa.
